Even upgraded to blue belts, there just wasn't enough throughput to sustain a late-game base, resulting in even more spaghetti as I attempted to weave belts of raw materials to where they were needed. Biggest problem was that my main bus, such as it was, was just a half belt of iron and copper plates. My base was typical newbie spaghetti hell, made worse due to the lack of logistic bots. Also used coal liquefaction, which was a lifesaver, since I ended up with only a single 4-patch field - everything else was drastically further out, buried under biter bases.ĭespite the deathworld settings, I didn't end up seeing any Behemoth-level enemies, which I'll credit to the reactor drastically reducing my pollution footprint.
Notable personal achievements - played around with uranium for the first time, making my first reactor (eye opener there - a single reactor was able to totally replace my entire steam engine farm built up to that point, and had power to spare), and depleted uranium ammunition. 17 solo deathworld game to a close in a stately 30 hours.Īchieved 'Steam all the way' and 'Logistic network embargo'.
